There's like one limited edition they did once and it looked pretty bad imo

Seiko doesn't offer any textured dial quartz options pretty much. And maybe a stronger brand name, though citizen is pretty well known and has just as long a history.įor me the biggest deal was getting a HAQ with a cool textured dial. Which is admittedly impressive, but imo solar power > service interval. The only advantage Grand Seiko quartz has over citizen is their sealed unit package / 50 year service interval. The citizen also has a battery status indicator and a jumping hour hand for changing timezones without losing the 5 seconds per year accuracy of the second hand.

Citizen has a solar powered battery, Seiko uses conventional batteries. Quartz GS, I've never seen one that wasn't a gloss single colored dial with no texture. Both are titanium both have very nice case polishing, both have timeless simplistic dressy design, both plus minus 5 seconds per year accuracy, perpetual calendar but:Ĭitizen quartz has textured (like this paper) dials. I've never owned a GS but I can tell you the chronomaster line is quality.Īt least for GS's quartz offerings, I think citizen wins.
